Pfanner employs 340 staff in Lauterach/Vorarlberg and Enns/Upper Austria. Since February 2001, Pfanner products have also been manufactured in Hamburg in Northern Germany. Sales in 2011 amounted to EUR 245m. Pfanner is very pleased with the overall development of its sales figures. This increase was achieved in the main markets Germany, Italy and Austria but also by activities in South East European countries. Since 1997 sales have tripled.

Corporate areas of business

  • Pfanner is one of Europe’s largest processors of fruit.The main focus is on the processing of apples, pears and red fruit. These raw materials are the basis of our fruit juices.
  • Pfanner offers a wide range of ready-to-drink fruit juices, fruit nectars and iced teas, as well as wellness teas. Only ingredients of the highest quality are used. Pfanner iced tea is brewed freshly from the best types of tea and enriched with fruit juices, producing a healthy, refreshing drink with a natural taste. So Pfanner is the best-selling iced tea brand in Germany.
  • Pfanner is also active in the area of co-packing. The company produces numerous containers and pack sizes (Tetra Rex 2.0 l, Tetra Slim 1,0 and 1.5 l, Tetra Prisma 0.2 l, Elopak 1.0 l, 0.75 l, 0.5 l, cans, glass bottles, etc.).

Clearly, Pfanner’s strength lies in its winning innovations, in the fruit juice as well as in the ice tea segment. In 2011 Pfanner has exported nearly 80% of its products with a continuous slightly increasing trend.

Generally, the reduction of CO2 emissions is one of the main objectives of environmental management by Pfanner.
Pfanner has been working together with WWF Austria since 1st of January 2009 and was the first food business member to join the WWF Climate Group Austria. The target is to lower emissions of carbon dioxide by increasing energy efficiency, by using renewable raw materials, by constantly shifting transports to rail, by switching packaging to FSC standards, by adding more organic, regional and fair trade products to our assortment. Not only 100% apple juice from Austria but also fair trade fruit juices & nectars underline our commitments – Pfanner is the leading manufacturer of fair trade fruit juices worldwide.

In steady development with our staff we pay attention to our environment, sustainability and careful use of resources. We support ambitious social projects to give people perspectives.
